People’s Service Society Palakkad (PSSP) founded by Mar Joseph Irimpen, Bishop of Palakkad in 1978 symbolizes the social concern of the diocese of Palakkad and attempts to incarnate social justice into the structures of the society. PSSP is a Registered Charitable Organization engaged in the process of empowering the poor and the marginalized. It has been struggling with the poor and marginalized for the realization of social justice and the common good. As the very name signifies, it is people oriented, and is working through participatory process in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating developmental activities.

  • PSSP is the parent NGO for implementing Jan Shikshan Sansthan by MoHRD, Govt. of India for Vocational Skill Training Programme.
  • PSSP has added value to the poor man’s food Jack fruit through JAXO 100 Jackfruit value added products [UPNRM]
  • Agri- annual fest [Karshika Mahotsavam] “POLIMA” organized by PSSP is the celebration of farmers of Palakkad.
  • PSSP established Polima Jackfruit and Banana Producer Company
  • PSSP is the anchor NGO by NABARD for implementing Women Self Help Group Programme and Joint Liability Groups in the entire district of Palakkad
  • PSSP is the implementing Migrant Suraksha Project of KSACS at Malappuram District
  • PSSP is the pioneer NGO for constructing Rain Water Harvesting structures in the District of Palakkad and for organizing and strengthening Self Help Groups in the name of Ayalkoottams.
